Process Overview:

The temperature during the solid solution process critically affects the properties and microstructure of the alloy. Specifically, the solid solution temperature determines the extent to which solute atoms dissolve into the solvent, influencing both the microstructure and macro-properties of the alloy. During solid solution treatment, the alloy is heated to a specific temperature to dissolve excess phases into the solid solution; the precise temperature directly influences solubility and the phase transformation behavior during subsequent cooling.
